My little girl is 3 months old now and is still in her bassinet. I love that she is sleeping on sheets that not only remind me of my childhood, they are from my childhood. I call them 'vintage' as they are 25+ years old. Thankfully my Mum kept them even after I had moved out of home. :o}
Her bassinet mattress fits well inside my old pillowcases - no cutting or sewing involved {which is good since I am hopeless at sewing!}.
I am hoping to use the flat sheets and doona covers as sheets in her cot, but may end up having to have those sewn to fit better. We shall see.

SO simple! I never thought of putting my son's bassinet mattress in a pillow case - but makes such wonderful sense. Will file this away for next time round :-)
