I made these printable poppies to use as an activity with the kids for ANZAC Day, so while we are making them, we can learn of their significance, and about the sacrifice that so many made for our freedom.
If you are not familiar with ANZAC day – you can read a little bit about it here.
You can also read about the red poppies significance here.
They are designed so you don’t have to do anything but cut and glue while you talk about our Diggers and how they are our true heroes.
After we glued the poppies together we taped green pipe cleaners to them. You could use sticks from the backyard or straws or popsticks so you can put them in a vase. Or you could use them to decorate something in your home.
We made a vase of poppies with the big ones. And the small ones we will pin to our shirts with a safety pin.
Lest We Forget.
