Keeping things up with 3M Restickable Tabs & a Giveaway!

Sponsored Post

It is no secret that I love making beautiful spaces for my children, I am constantly changing things around in an attempt to make the space work better for how we need or want to use it. And then I am always thinking of ways to 'pretty up' these spaces.
So I was very excited to try these new 3M Scotch Restickable Tabs, a unique and innovative light weight mounting product. They are a double sided adhesive tab or strip that makes them perfect for posters and crafts to dress up our home a little.

They come in packs {RRP $4.95} and a variety of different sizes, tabs, strips and sheets. I found I used the little square tabs and the long rectangle strips the most, they are SO useful.

I decided to try them out on a world map poster I have been trying to pop up in the kids' reading nook. By trying I mean, I have put it up more than a dozen times with blu tac, and it has fallen down after a day or two especially when it's hot. You can probably see some of the residue in the corner of my poster!

Well I am happy to report that almost two weeks have passed since I popped the poster up using the Scotch Restickable tabs and the map is still up there. {The kids have even been touching it and it hasn't fallen, win!} Super happy!

So then I also used it to pop up this cute alphabet poster I have had sitting around for a while. It's such a lovely little finishing touch to this space. When removed Scotch Restickables remove cleanly and will not leave an oil residue on the surface!

Then I used them to attach these laminated labels to these caddies in our new school corner {more on that coming}. Tape just wouldn't work here and I'm not a fan of gluing things on so that I can reuse these caddies in the future for something else.

I also decided to give it a go on our Summer Fun List. This I was a little nervous about because it wasn't laminated and usually tape tears the paper when I take them down. I was very impressed that the Scotch Restickable tabs did not ruin the paper at all. Not even a bit.

Unlike other light weight mounting products, Scotch Restickables sit flush, allowing you to display your artwork proudly. Which is absolutely perfect for those gorgeous crafts your kiddos make! These were our wombats and koalas up for Australia day. They are still up despite the hot days we've had since we made them and I love that when I take them down I know there will be no damage done to the artwork.
The packaging also stated that the Scotch Restickables can be washed in soapy water, rinsed and air dried to restore its stickiness so you can use it over and over again. This sounded too good to be true so I gave a couple of pieces to my kiddos to play with. Yep, play with. They stuck them on their scooters and the floor, they got sand on them, dust, plus greasy finger prints. The Restickables weren't so sticky anymore, so I followed the directions to wash with some soapy water, rinse and air dry and sure enough, they were like new. Very cool!

You can watch their TV ad here to see a little more about how they work.
They are available in Officeworks and Bunnings stores nationally. Which is good because I need to get some more...

  13. sounds like an answer to prayer!! I so hate blu tack cause the little fingers in my house always find it to play with. Since getting new carpet, I haven't been displaying artworks in their bedrooms. Over the holidays we finished off 3 sets of sticky mosaic art (pixies, butterflies and disney princesses) and the girls are desparate to have them up in their rooms. Looks like another Bunnings trip is in order - just went yesterday...

  24. I too have relied on Blu Tak to put up gorgeous light weight things in our girls' bedrooms...only to have them collapse to the floor in the heat! And as we rent, it's even more important that things can be removed easily without damaging the wall....so these would be amazing! I have 2 bus scroll prints to hang that look sad waiting on their chest of drawers!

  25. I am a little bit hippie at heart,
So I share in a different art.
I have hundreds of dreamcatchers... HOMEMADE,
By me in many types of Suede!
To hang them all up would be really neat,
Instead of them being on the floor around my feet!

  57. These look and sound like a great product! I am forever putting up (and taking down) artwork, and deoorations to celebrate occasions. As you said, in our hot summers bluetak can sometimes just not cut it and on certain things tape just doesn't work. I love the idea that you can reuse them as well - how environmentally friendly is that! Thanks so much for sharing Bianca.
