Owen's dreamy cloud nursery

Finally I've had some time to sit down and share Owen's dreamy cloud nursery with you all! I was so excited to share this with you and had hoped to share shortly after I shared his little nook in our bedroom but then he arrived and things have been pretty crazy since then :o}

At first we weren't going to find out girl or boy so we chose an aqua and white colour theme as a neutral starting point for the nursery. I had planned on adding in some yellow and blue or green for a boy and some pink and coral for a girl.

I really love how this colour scheme of aqua, white and pale yellow. It's so fresh and bright and happy. I also love how it works so well with the cloud theme I had wanted for the nursery this time around. I really had so much fun putting this room together for our bubby and even though Owen sleeps in his nook in our room we still spend a lot of time in here feeding, changing and playing and it's such a joyful room to be in.

This cot is now being used for our third baby - it has really served us well so far. It's funny to think that towards the end of last year hubby and I were trying to feel 'finished' with our family and sold or donated most of our baby items - except I told him I wasn't ready to let go of the cot. Lucky we didn't ;o}

I love polkadots as I'm sure most of you know by now - so I just had to do a polka dot wall! These are non-toxic removable fabric wall decals that I painted with watercolours myself.
The pretty twinkle lights to the right were bought from Ikea about 7 or 8 years ago and are just the perfect little bit of light in here when we're feeding at night.

The cloud pillow is the first thing I bought for the nursery - it was just perfect regardless of what accent colours we added for girl or boy in here. The knitted teddy was made for Noah by a dear Aunty of mine, but he is on loan to Owen for the time being. :o}

I wanted to make this little gallery wall above the cot featuring the little embroidery hoop artwork I made for Owen's room. Originally I was going to embroider his name into the cloud but I think it looks nice just like this. The yellow print is my 'so many of my smiles begin with you' freebie that you can download from here.

This little shelf with the totally cute {and did I mention perfect in it's aqua coloured cloud-ness!} is where we hang the nappy bag when not in use and also Owen's sleeping bag.

On the other side of the room we have a feeding chair and Owen's change table and chest of drawers. The hensvik shelf unit above the change table area houses some buckets filled with nappy rash cream, cotton balls and ear buds, moisturiser etc.
It's not easy to see in this photo but in the frame above the wall shelves with books and such is a photo of my belly with Noah and Chloe, as well as a drawing they each did of our little baby before he was born.

I have wanted one of these Ikea Raskog trolleys for a long time but could never figure out what to do with it. I had seen them being used as a craft trolley quite often, filled with papers and pens and such, but I didn't really need to do that with my craft stuff. And then I had a light bulb moment to use it for all the baby's nappy change stuff and burp cloths etc and I am so happy with how it turned out. And now that we've actually been using it for 2 months, I am so happy that it works really well for this! We usually wheel it to the side as we stand where it is kept to change Owen but it means that I didn't have to dedicate half the top drawer to nappies and wipes etc and we still have everything we need within very easy reach.

We popped some small shelves above the chair in Owen's room to house a small collection of books and to have them nice and close. We love books in our house and it's never too early to start reading!

More books will be stored here as Owen's collection grows.

For now it just houses mostly trinkets and pretty things! I really had so much fun sourcing cute cloud things for Owen's room.

So that is our little Owen's dreamy cloud nursery. We all love this room and I really hope he does too.

Thank you so much for letting me take you on a little tour!

xx
