It was like pancakes in our lasagne haha!! Needless to say we were both a little disappointed!</center><center><br /></center><center></center><center>Enter our new <a href="http://www.kitchenwaredirect.com.au/Baccarat-Pasta-Machine-Chrome-15cm" target="_blank">baccarat pasta machine</a>. I was so excited when it arrived from <a href="http://www.kitchenwaredirect.com.au/" target="_blank">Kitchenware Direct</a>&nbsp; (in record time!) and changed our meal plan so that I could make pasta the next day.&nbsp;</center><center><br /></center><center></center><center>I was surprised how easy it was to use the pasta machine. Putting it together is a breeze as is attaching it to the bench top.</center><center>We used the dough recipe that came with the machine and it worked a treat!</center><center><br /></center><center></center><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_iEhn3kme_Y/UFqmVCSaiDI/AAAAAAAADc0/GFgl-PqgRFo/s1600/pasta+making.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_iEhn3kme_Y/UFqmVCSaiDI/AAAAAAAADc0/GFgl-PqgRFo/s640/pasta+making.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><center>The kids were so very serious about our pasta session - wanting to watch and help and 'make sure we made good pasta this time' ... haha.&nbsp;</center><center><br /></center><center></center><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-m0lMYw4GqDs/UFqmTz7eWJI/AAAAAAAADco/KsXrjiVZxpI/s1600/pasta+making+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-m0lMYw4GqDs/UFqmTz7eWJI/AAAAAAAADco/KsXrjiVZxpI/s640/pasta+making+3.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">&nbsp; And boy did we make good pasta! The instructions that come with the machine are great and we just followed them.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wYQZ6JO-gRk/UFqmXsXRnzI/AAAAAAAADdE/OAoIp-meTkQ/s1600/pasta+making4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wYQZ6JO-gRk/UFqmXsXRnzI/AAAAAAAADdE/OAoIp-meTkQ/s640/pasta+making4.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">It took a bit of practice to get the hang of how to feed the dough through the machine, but once we sussed it out, we were churning out lasagne sheets like we were a pasta factory! Well, a teeny pasta factory :)<br /><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">The kids loved helping turn the handle and watching the pasta come through and then also of course loved taste testing it. Also they like to eat flour. Just plain flour.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-riTk2KE2xz8/UFqmWt5etQI/AAAAAAAADc4/TPIR81d9l5E/s1600/pasta+making2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-riTk2KE2xz8/UFqmWt5etQI/AAAAAAAADc4/TPIR81d9l5E/s640/pasta+making2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">&nbsp; Our sheets of lovely lasagne!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-a_jYHGi8w_U/UFqmS6UJLFI/AAAAAAAADck/9GDA6wjHT8s/s1600/lasagne2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-a_jYHGi8w_U/UFqmS6UJLFI/AAAAAAAADck/9GDA6wjHT8s/s640/lasagne2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">&nbsp; You can see here that we were able to get the pasta quite thin using the pasta machine! Very happy!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">&nbsp; And here is the photo of after it was cooked. Please excuse the "I have bad light in my kitchen which is of course much worse after sun-down" photo and trust me when I say that home made pasta took our lasagne to a whole new level. Oh my goodness! Absolutely hands down better than store bought - even those 'fresh' lasagne sheets you can buy don't compare.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-A6ZfOdz9Hkw/UFqmRTKU_2I/AAAAAAAADcc/0hAzmF7BljM/s1600/lasagne.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-A6ZfOdz9Hkw/UFqmRTKU_2I/AAAAAAAADcc/0hAzmF7BljM/s640/lasagne.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><center></center><center><br /></center><center>And just because we were too desperate to wait til the next time we needed some fettuccini or spaghetti we used a little dough to try out the attachment on the pasta machine that will do all of this for you!</center><center>Literally so easy. I was amazed and the kids were even more so. Officially - "we made good pasta" :o}&nbsp;</center><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PZUHl2pKY5k/UFqmYs1wnHI/AAAAAAAADdM/qkXuOARRmRM/s1600/pasta_fettucine_spaghetti.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PZUHl2pKY5k/UFqmYs1wnHI/AAAAAAAADdM/qkXuOARRmRM/s640/pasta_fettucine_spaghetti.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I am impressed with our new machine and think it is a great thing to have. Sorry it's been so quiet around here lately - I had a huge assignment due in plus sick kiddos the week before so it's been a little crazy. I have so much to share with you though! Let's start with this :o}</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">We love movie nights at our house and sometimes it's fun to make them a little more extra special so I made up these Move Night Tickets and Drink and Snack Vouchers to use. I <i>knew</i> this would be just the thing we needed. We had an area where I stored some of our papers and our pencils and crayons in glass jars right by our magnetic memo board but I wasn't in love with it.</center><center></center><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wxCl_613ld4/UEN2kBPSqFI/AAAAAAAADIg/2iyqhQXbz6g/s1600/writing+workshop+before.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="353" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wxCl_613ld4/UEN2kBPSqFI/AAAAAAAADIg/2iyqhQXbz6g/s400/writing+workshop+before.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><center>So I spent a few days searching on gumtree for a shelf I could use since we had nothing here I could transform. I didn't want to spend very much and so was so happy to find a very sturdy book shelf in decent condition for $40.&nbsp;</center><center></center><center>I used some chipboard letters that I have had for seriously years {think pre-Noah!} and blu-tacked them to the top of the shelf spelling out the words Writing Workshop.</center><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TcQF_cqhhEo/UEN2iaCXrJI/AAAAAAAADII/uxHJq9xvi3k/s1600/chipboard.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TcQF_cqhhEo/UEN2iaCXrJI/AAAAAAAADII/uxHJq9xvi3k/s320/chipboard.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><center></center><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><center>I then just popped our glass jars on there, along with a basket and 2 white boxes from Ikea but felt it needed a little more. I found a spare basket to use on one of the shelves as I was trying not to buy anything new for this project. {except the shelf itself!}&nbsp;</center><center>But magazine files were definitely needed to control the clutter and paper down on the bottom shelf.</center><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MRJohaQXSP0/UEN3eFuaXvI/AAAAAAAADJo/VdMsNFtmMX4/s1600/writing+workshop+before+files.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MRJohaQXSP0/UEN3eFuaXvI/AAAAAAAADJo/VdMsNFtmMX4/s400/writing+workshop+before+files.jpg" width="267" /></a></div><center></center><center><br /></center><center>So I went to Big W and bought the 2 magazine files and the little white drawers. They were a perfect fit and matched the ikea boxes we already had.</center><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-B4W60pV1vr4/UEN2jKDvLPI/AAAAAAAADIQ/jMl1YjuAS3A/s1600/writing+workshop+after.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="566" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-B4W60pV1vr4/UEN2jKDvLPI/AAAAAAAADIQ/jMl1YjuAS3A/s640/writing+workshop+after.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">We use the magnetic board {which is made from a large Ikea frame and a sheet of colorbond steel} to house our chore charts and a weekly schedule of activities and other bits and pieces.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">So here is our writing workshop. :o}</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">On the top shelf we have a jar of pencils, scissors, pencil sharpener and such. Winter is still a novelty to me and our long school holidays as kids corresponded with American summer, which of course is our winter here. We would go and visit my grandparents in Canberra and play outside and freeze and LOVE it. So many beautiful memories tied in with winter for me.</center><center><br /></center><center></center><center></center><center>So for one last winter hurrah, I made the kids some hot vanilla with melting marshmallow snowmen. I got the idea for the hot vanilla from <a href="http://familyfun.go.com/recipes/hot-vanilla-688488/" target="_blank">here</a>&nbsp;{put I just put some vanilla powder in the bottom of a little mug and poured hot forthy milk on top and stirred - easy peasy!}&nbsp;</center><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZQR89HX7Oos/UEGm4bujkmI/AAAAAAAADF4/t7gR4LxIewg/s1600/snowman+hot+vanilla.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZQR89HX7Oos/UEGm4bujkmI/AAAAAAAADF4/t7gR4LxIewg/s640/snowman+hot+vanilla.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><center></center><center></center><center><br /></center><center>But I am happy to be seeing spring - &nbsp;the promise of growth and change. The flowers are blooming and the birds are chirping and everything is a little more green and bright and happy. My kids love spring too, it's exciting when you see things start to grow. We'll probably do some <a href="http://www.alittledelightful.com/2011/10/grass-seed-egg-plantings_07.html" target="_blank">grass seedling</a> fun again and make some birdseed feeders and go and feed some ducks and learn about insects and butterflies and have a nature table in the house and all of that fun that comes with spring.</center><center><br /></center><center></center><center>If you've been here a while you'll know we love our seasonal fun lists. It's like a 'bucket list' for the season - things you'd like to do before the summer kicks in, before it's too hot and the days are too long. We'll be watching some sunsets on the beach this spring before the sun starts to set way too late for the kiddos to enjoy.</center><center><br /></center><center></center><center>We will be filling ours out over the next couple of days and hoping to tick off some fun during the next 3 months. I loved the idea of a thermomix but wasn't 100% sold and so when I was invited to a demo another girlfriend was holding early this year, I jumped at the chance to see it in action. After that, I came home and told my hubby that I was going to start saving for one because I was pretty sold, and while I was saving, I was going to research and look at recipes etc so that I could be sure I would really use it.&nbsp;</center><center><br /></center><center></center><center></center><center></center><center>My darling hubby surprised me a few months later with a thermomix for mother's day. Yes I know, very very spoilt. We really don't do big mother's day / father's day gifts, so this was out of the blue. I happily contributed the half I had saved up :o}</center><center><br /></center><center></center><center></center><center></center><center>My lovely consultant, Nikki, delivered it on a Friday night. Which was PERFECT as it meant I had the whole weekend to play with it :o}</center><center><br /></center><center></center><center></center><center></center><center>We used it <b>16 times</b> in our first weekend.</center><center><br /></center><center></center><center></center><center>We made stock and custard on the friday night. On the Saturday we made porridge, marinade for chicken, pasta, chopped veg and then pureed it, made icing sugar, made vanilla ice cream. On the Sunday we made home made milo, bread dough, béchamel to freeze for lasagne, smoothies, blended the frozen ice cream mix from the previous day and made mashed potato.&nbsp;</center><center><br /></center><center></center><center></center><center></center><center>Now I don't use it 16 times in a weekend very often, it was new and I was so excited and wanted to try everything.&nbsp; But it does get used<i> at least twice a day</i>, and it is rare that we don't use it more than that. I don't know how to use the Varoma bit yet (the steamer that goes on top) - and haven't touched it to be honest. Soon!</center><center><br /></center><center></center><center></center><center></center><center>So many of you have asked me about how it fits into our life on a daily basis - the easiest way for me to show this is I guess a kind of usage diary?&nbsp;</center><center><br /></center><center></center><center></center><center></center><center>So here is a typical week of Thermomix usage in our home, some weeks we may use it for dinner more (if we have been busy, have had lots of appointments, or I've had a lot of study on) and some weeks we use it less (because we have more time to cook a meal on the stove etc)</center><center><br /></center><center><br /></center><center></center><center></center><center></center><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QdTtZ1iQggw/UCkAcfGvSkI/AAAAAAAAC1A/wwbKLFkzG9Q/s1600/thermomix+usage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="57" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QdTtZ1iQggw/UCkAcfGvSkI/AAAAAAAAC1A/wwbKLFkzG9Q/s400/thermomix+usage.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><center style="text-align: left;"><b>Monday</b>:</center><center style="text-align: left;">porridge</center><center style="text-align: left;">smoothie</center><center style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/21277/apple+pikelets" target="_blank">apple pikelet</a> batter</center><center style="text-align: left;">cook and then puree onion, carrot, celery, zuchinni, tomato and spinach for <a href="http://alittledelightful.blogspot.com.au/2012/08/recipe-home-made-taco-seasoning.html" target="_blank">tacos</a></center><center style="text-align: left;">grate cheese for tacos</center><center style="text-align: left;"></center><center style="text-align: left;"><b><br /></b></center><center style="text-align: left;"><b>Tuesday</b>:</center><center style="text-align: left;">porridge&nbsp;</center><center style="text-align: left;">bread dough for pizza scrolls</center><center style="text-align: left;">grate cheese for pizza scrolls&nbsp;</center><center style="text-align: left;">coleslaw&nbsp;</center><center style="text-align: left;">cooked pasta dish for dinner (pasta fagioli in the EDC)&nbsp;</center><center style="text-align: left;"></center><center style="text-align: left;"><b><br /></b></center><center style="text-align: left;"><b>Wednesday</b>:</center><center style="text-align: left;">smoothie</center><center style="text-align: left;">coconut and choc chip muffins</center><center style="text-align: left;">vanilla milkshakes - after school treat</center><center style="text-align: left;">made crumb for kids chicken nuggets {bread + LSA mix}</center><center style="text-align: left;">mashed potato side dish for dinner</center><center style="text-align: left;"></center><center style="text-align: left;"><b><br /></b></center><center style="text-align: left;"><b>Thursday</b>:</center><center style="text-align: left;">porridge</center><center style="text-align: left;">smoothie</center><center style="text-align: left;">hummus dip</center><center style="text-align: left;">made cauliflower béchamel for pasta side dish. froze the rest for using in lasagne&nbsp;</center><center style="text-align: left;"></center><center style="text-align: left;"><b><br /></b></center><center style="text-align: left;"><b>Friday</b>:</center><center style="text-align: left;">porridge</center><center style="text-align: left;">chopped nuts for home made muesli</center><center style="text-align: left;">cooked beef stroganoff for dinner {with chopped and then pureed veg done before following the EDC recipe}</center><center style="text-align: left;">cinnamon roll dough, filling and frosting</center><center style="text-align: left;"></center><center style="text-align: left;"><b><br /></b></center><center style="text-align: left;"><b>Saturday</b>:</center><center style="text-align: left;">smoothie</center><center style="text-align: left;">pizza dough for home made pizza night</center><center style="text-align: left;">grate cheese for pizzas</center><center style="text-align: left;"></center><center style="text-align: left;"><b><br /></b></center><center style="text-align: left;"><b>Sunday</b>:</center><center style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://quirkycooking.blogspot.com.au/2009/02/blender-batter-brown-rice-waffles.html" target="_blank">brown rice waffle batter</a> (from quirky cooking)</center><center style="text-align: left;">marinade for chicken</center><center style="text-align: left;"><br /></center><center style="text-align: left;"></center><center style="text-align: left;"></center><center></center><center>I add pureed veg to anything and everything I can because Noah is fussy and doesn't eat any vegetables other than raw carrot and cucumber and occasionally some raw celery. It is something I've always done, but used to have to chop the veg, steam it in the microwave steamer, pull out the stick blender and puree it all before being able to add it to our meal. Now I still chop the veggies (but can leave them much chunkier) and then use the thermomix to chop them up quite small, then cook them in there until soft, then puree them and add to our meal. It's done in less time, and with much less fuss and much less washing up. Love that having a thermomix has made this easier for me and also means that more of our meals are getting this veggie boost because it's just so easy.</center><center><br /></center><center></center><center></center><center></center><center><center>I have found it so easy to adapt the recipes in the book to suit us better (for example I never use as much oil as they say to, so far no problems) and I always add more vegetables.&nbsp;</center><center>I have also found it so easy to adapt some of our family favourites to suit the thermomix just by following the general guide on speeds and times, cooking temperature etc.&nbsp;</center><center><br /></center><center></center><center></center><center></center><center>As well as fitting in with everyday and just working so well with how I cooked already, I can now make even more from scratch which is a huge plus for me, it makes it easier for me to control the sugar / salt content of a lot of foods as well as easier to avoid additives and preservatives. I have been making my own butter + buttermilk, stock, jam, <a href="http://alittledelightful.blogspot.com.au/2012/07/recipe-home-made-healthy-milo.html" target="_blank">milo</a>, almond meal, caster + icing sugar, ice cream, rice flour, custards, nutella, the list goes on and on. Granted some of that I used to make without a thermomix and most if not all is doable without one, but it is all just so amazingly easy with one.&nbsp;</center><center><br /></center><center></center><center></center><center></center><center>The one thing I didn't think I'd do very much with my thermomix is baking. Now obviously it doesn't bake - but it does make your batter or dough. And I have to admit, I have been working on converting a lot of my baking recipes for the thermomix, because it's amazing how simple it makes some of those recipes! It weighs and mixes and kneads all in the one thing, so often cuts out a lot of steps, and a lot of bowls and washing too.&nbsp;</center><div><br /></div><div>I absolutely love cooking. I am happiest when in the kitchen cooking or baking something beautiful for my family to enjoy. But the reality is that we are all busy. On days when I'm not feeling well, or I've been swamped with study, or we're running late, or the kids are sick or all the other million things that can make our afternoons hard, I can usually whip something up much faster now that I have a thermomix in my kitchen. Whether it just chops up the veggies for me very very teeny for my fussy boy, or makes a side dish while I cook the main on the stove, or cooks the whole dinner for me, it is a huge help!</div><div>Below is a snippet of the stroganoff recipe - 3 steps, less than 25 minutes. We came home shattered one saturday after a full day of being out, from 8am until 5:30pm and instead of grabbing take out on the way home, we walked in the door and spent 5 minutes getting dinner on {I did this, hubby got the <a href="http://alittledelightful.blogspot.com.au/2012/07/review-giveaway-breville-fast-slow.html" target="_blank">fast slow cooker</a> making rice} then we popped the kids in a bath and folded and put away some laundry while it cooked for us. What's not to love?&nbsp;</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Z62WjGBhjcs/UCkAdUuWsWI/AAAAAAAAC1I/1sg1unKIDpw/s1600/thermomixrecipe.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Z62WjGBhjcs/UCkAdUuWsWI/AAAAAAAAC1I/1sg1unKIDpw/s400/thermomixrecipe.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div>My kids still cook with me. My hubby and I still cook together {something we enjoy doing}. I still have pots of delicious food bubbling away on my stove. But for <i>those days</i> and for just generally helping make my life easier and for making it possible to make so much more from scratch in record time, I am loving my thermomix.</div><div><br /></div><div>Looking forward to sharing a lot more thermomix goodness with you!<br /><br /></div></center><center></center><center><b><i>Tell me, do you have one? Of course if you preferred to take it apart completely (for travelling etc) that is super easy too, the poles are less than a metre long when apart, and you can just fold up the tee pee material.&nbsp;</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-llEwIoGPLxo/UB6QN1zBN1I/AAAAAAAACt8/sd-Kb8DpmNA/s1600/lime_tree_kids_teepee5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-llEwIoGPLxo/UB6QN1zBN1I/AAAAAAAACt8/sd-Kb8DpmNA/s640/lime_tree_kids_teepee5.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><center>We have a lot of fun in our tee pee. It really is a gorgeous addition to our play space but is so easy to pop away too, which was such an important factor for me in choosing a tee pee for the kids to have to play in. You'll wonder why you haven't done it before.&nbsp;</center><center><br /></center><center><br /></center><center></center><center>And the best part? You can change it up. Like more garlic? Add more.</center><center>Want it spicy? Add some chilli.&nbsp;</center><center><br /></center><center><br /></center><center></center><center><center>You start with 5 spices, a bit of salt and a bit of cornflour.</center><center><br /></center><center><br /></center><center>My recipe is as follows - chop and change as you see fit.&nbsp;</center></center><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-asEStw4UIeI/UB6W3NCgzWI/AAAAAAAACvg/20rFZ09bZSc/s1600/taco_seasoning2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-asEStw4UIeI/UB6W3NCgzWI/AAAAAAAACvg/20rFZ09bZSc/s640/taco_seasoning2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><center><u>INGREDIENTS</u>:&nbsp;</center><center>3 tsp smoked paprika {or chilli powder}</center><center>6 tsp garlic powder</center><center>7 tsp ground cumin</center><center>4 tsp paprika</center><center>3 tsp mixed herbs</center><center>3 tsp salt*&nbsp;</center><center>2 tsp cornflour {optional}</center><center><br /></center><center><br /></center><center></center><center>Mix all together in a bowl and store in an air tight jar.</center><center><br /></center><center><br /></center><center></center><center></center><center>This makes about<b> 8 Tbs</b>&nbsp;of seasoning, and I usually use about 1 Tbs per 500g of mince, so this will last you a little while :o}</center><center><br /></center><center><br /></center><center></center><center></center><center></center><center>When cooking, add a good dollop of tomato paste and some water to the desired consistency. Some like their tacos saltier {like hubby} and so add salt to your taste. I add chilli just to mine since the kiddos aren't keen :o}&nbsp;</center><center><br /></center><center><br /></center><center></center><center></center><center></center><center>I always add pureed veg to our taco meat - carrot, celery, zucchini and spinach and my kids are none-the-wiser. When doing this though I will often add another 1/2 - 1 tsp of seasoning while cooking after giving it a bit of a taste. This is great especially for kids like my Noah who won't put lettuce, tomato or salsa on their tacos!&nbsp;</center><center><br /></center><center><br /></center><center></center><center></center><center>The first time you make this, it might be more expensive than buying a packet mix, depending on how many of the spices you don't already have. But it works out to be much cheaper in the end, up to 8 dinners if using 1 Tbs per dinner. I buy my spices in bulk also which makes it even cheaper. :o}</center><center><br /></center><center><br /></center><center></center><center></center><center></center><center>Happy Taco Seasoning Making!</center><center><br /></center><center><br /></center><center></center><center></center><center>x</center><center><br /></center><center><br /></center><center></center><center></center><center><i>*{better if you use unrefined salt like pink himalayan or pink murray river but I had run out!}</i></center><center><i><br /></i></center><center></center><center></center><center> <a href="http://s88.photobucket.com/albums/k189/bianca384/?action=view&amp;current=sig4_1.png" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k189/bianca384/sig4_1.png" /></a></center><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://http//www.1dollarday.org"><img src="http://www.1dollarday.org/banners/468x60_animation.gif" /></a></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3371305605988728118-9164582040304446426?l=www.alittledelightful.com' alt='' /></div>Biancahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15419937677624234868noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3371305605988728118.post-79582098697700077222012-08-01T09:42:00.000+08:002012-08-01T09:42:24.861+08:00{activity} playdough volcanos!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-v43NrorQQcc/UBP9QXT0LUI/AAAAAAAACls/nKknRMR8UHk/s1600/playdough+volcanos.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="398" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-v43NrorQQcc/UBP9QXT0LUI/AAAAAAAACls/nKknRMR8UHk/s640/playdough+volcanos.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><center>What to do with <a href="http://alittledelightful.blogspot.com.au/2012/07/playdough-dino-playdough.html" target="_blank">dino playdough</a> that has been played with to death and should really be relocated to the bin soon?</center><center><br /></center><center>Make volcanoes, of course!</center><center><br /></center><center>Which is what we did.&nbsp;</center><center><br /></center><center>Noah really really wanted to make a volcano during our dinosaur theme.
